Abstract

This study aims to analyze the talqin method as an instrument of spiritual persuasive communication within the framework of Islamic da'wah, focusing on Miftahus Shudur by Shaykh Ahmad Shohibulwafa Tajul Arifin (Abah Anom). In the tradition of the Qadiriyah Naqsyabandiyah Order (TQN) of Suryalaya Islamic Boarding School, talqin is understood not merely as an initiation ritual but also as a process of spiritual communication that fosters the disciples' spiritual awareness and inner transformation. This research employed a qualitative approach using library research and content analysis of Miftahus Shudur and other relevant literature. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of talqin as a form of spiritual persuasive communication is supported by four principal elements: the spiritual credibility (ethos) of the Mursyid, emotional resonance (pathos) generated through the experience of dhikr, strong theological and philosophical foundations (logos) embedded in Miftahus Shudur, and the consistent application of repetition as a persuasive technique in spiritual guidance. This study concludes that the talqin method represents a model of spiritual persuasive communication that remains relevant in addressing the spiritual crisis of modern society while contributing to moral development and social transformation through Islamic da’wah.
