This study is motivated by the need for a preaching approach that is able to adapt to the conditions of a plural society characterized by diversity in religion, culture, educational background, and religious understanding. This study aims to analyze the preaching movement of K.H. Zaenal Arifin in spreading Islamic teachings among the plural community of Susuru Hamlet, Kertajaya Village, Panawangan District, Ciamis Regency, and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was established through triangulation. The findings show that K.H. Zaenal Arifin's preaching movement was carried out through an adaptive, dialogical, humanistic, and contextual approach. This approach was manifested through the adjustment of preaching materials to the characteristics of the community, the use of simple language, question-and-answer methods, analogies and everyday-life stories, exemplary conduct, and involvement in social and interfaith activities. The supporting factors included the preacher's personality and exemplary conduct, the use of appropriate communication methods, and support from the community and interfaith leaders. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included differences in the community's religious and cultural backgrounds, stereotypes or negative perceptions of Islam, and limitations in facilities and communication access. The preaching movement contributed to the development of relatively harmonious social relations within the Susuru community. The study demonstrates that Islamic preaching in a plural society can be effectively conducted through an approach emphasizing tolerance, unity, compassion, and mutual respect.
